I like to use my 4qt for steaming veggies (placed on top of the trivet, and I fill it up - w/1 cup water). As soon as the pot comes to pressure, I just remove it - it's not even timed. Did that today with a chinese veggie mix, an it was wonderful.

I use the larger pots for rice and soups. For instance, I might want to cook 3 cup of rice in the 6qt while I have a pot of split pea or chili going in the 7, and have steamed veggies going on yet another burner.

The little 2qt is good for quick sauces and roasting.

If you give me an idea of what you like, I can tell you which pot to use.
