I bought a Magefesa 8 quart. It was great, but had developed a problem due to a manufacturing defect and was replaced by the company with two pots, 6 and 3 quart. At first I as pretty disgusted, but now have adapted our meals to a smaller pot. I cook for 4 and like leftovers for lunches. We still have leftovers when I use the 6 quart, depending on the recipe. You probably should get a 7 at least, and I would recommend either a Kuhn or Magefesa. Since Magefesa is no longer making the 8 liter, I guess that means Kuhn. I don't know what is going on with Magefesa, they told me they were coming out with a new model, whatever happens we shall see. As for the 3 quart, I saw no use for it at first, but now I use it very often. It cooks a batch of frozen peas or corn faster than I could do it in the microwave, and since these are the veggies the Meat Eater will actually CONSUME, this is a wonderful thing. It is fabulous for preparing a quick side dish of a pound of something steamed, as long as my one lid isn't already in use. Even if I am using the big pot, I can cook the main dish and then use the lid to cook a quick thing in the small pot and everything is done at once, the big pot usually has to cool a bit before we can eat, anyhow. Good luck in your new hobby, PC'ing is addictive. You should also get the Lorna Sass book, if you don't already have it.
