I was using a recipe from Feeding the Whole Family, for black beans. It said for a PC for 2 cups of beans soaked over night use 4 cups of water and bring up to pressure for 40 min! I've had my PC a long time, but I've never made beans. Every where else I look it says 3 cups of water for 1 cup of beans and cook like 10 min. I thought it might be because I was using a specific recipe, but it just didn't seem right. Another recipe in the same book using black beans but w/ lots of other ingred. was timed just as long and turned fine. As I said though, I've NEVER made beans. So I have no idea what's going on.

BTW I have a fagor.
