Subject: Stovetop Rice vs. PC Rice

Hi! I don't want to knock PCs as I have been using one for the last two years (and love it), but recently I had to make some brown rice on the stovetop and -- to my surprise -- it tasted much better than when I make it in the PC. This got me to thinking that I've never been really pleased with my PC beans (compared to canned)so I am going the very very slow route today of cooking black beans on the stove. Has anyone else noticed differences in the quality of rice and beans that are pressure cooked versus stovetop cooked versus canned(for the beans) or is this just a fluke?
