I've had another sort of problem with my 7-qt Magefesa, and it may help others to know how I solved it. The problem was in the top pressure valve, which wasn't releasing steam correctly, causing the safety valves to let out the steam and reduce the pressure. The result was that pressure never really got up high enough for proper PC cooking, plus the food often scorched because I kept (mistakenly) turning up the heat. I finally called Customer Service, which diagnosed the situation as a problem in the alignment of the top valve. A little "tooth" needs to fit into a corresponding groove. The solution is to take the whole valve apart and very carefully re-align it, trying not to lose any of the 14 parts while doing so! There are no instructions for this procedure in the rather minimalist users' manual that came with my Magefesa, but Customer Service promptly faxed me a sheet of instructions. I've had to re-do this twice; don't know if having to repeat this is a fault in my particular PC, or a more general problem of the brand. Hpee this helps someone!
