The primary reason for the Farberware is ease of use and not having to watch it. According to Sabrina, you cannot cook EVERYTHING successfully in it - altho I've had luck with all I've cooked. I cook a lot more quinoa, millet, barley etc than brown rice, as I'm not a big fan. I usually use a Fagor for it as the bottom seems the thickest of all of them. Yes, the Magefesa does scorch a bit - I noticed some "stains" last night as I was putting it away. I cook for 2 only, but make double recipes as I freeze a lot. You know, I think I'll try a pot of brown rice (it's time for sushi) this week in the Farberware and let you know how it goes. Because it is non-stick, I think it would be fine. Have you read Sabrina's review of pressure cookers? I think she might go over the pros and cons of each (click on the link at the top of the main pressure cooker page). I know she told me risotto doesn't work well because you can't control the air exhaust as well as with a regular one. I only use my Magefesa for big recipes 8 qt like soups and chilis with lots of broth. That's about all I know! Good luck! Roberta Joiner
