Slow cookers only work that effectively if you're making a recipe that can handle long, slow cooking...many can't. I haven't used my slow cooker much since we stopped eating meat nearly 16 years ago. Occasionally I used to use it to cook plain beans for a recipe, but anymore it's just not worth the effort of getting it out in the morning when I'm busy...much easier, and just as fast, to PC them up that afternoon or early evening! Most of the recipes I make in my PC could not be made in a slow cooker. The vegetables would overcook if left exposed to heat that long. What I used my slow cooker most for back in the day was pot roast...which, needless to say, isn't on the menu anymore. Audrey
