BobK- Thanks so much for all of your suggestions! I don't think it's old beans, either, since this has happened about 4 or 5 times, with different types of beans from different sources. I know I am (supposedly) at high pressure because there is a little red thing that pops up. I know about that weird setting on the knob, so I think I have that set correctly. I have not noticed a lot of condensation which would indicate a leaky gasket, but then, I have not looked for it, either. That could be the problem, I will try cooking something and check for that. I think it has to be something like that, since rice and things like red lentils work fine; it's just white beans, black beans, chick peas and pintos that I am having problems with. I have even replaced the lid, brought back to high pressure for a few minutes, then checked again, still not cooked. I will check the gasket, thanks so much!
