I have a fairly new fagor splendid, which I received as a gift. The problem I'm having is that it's just not cooking things correctly, mainly beans. Even if I cook at high pressure the maximum time, or add a minute or two, they are not cooking. Also, the pressure comes down very quickly. The only think that seems to work okay is rice. I can't imagine what could be wrong. I have taken it apart and everything looks fine, as best I can tell. The gasket seems fine; it's pretty new. No, I am not cooking the beans with salt or tomatoes or broth or anything, I've tried just beans and water, maybe a chunk of kombu.

I checked overstock.com, and they have a Bravetti pressure cooker set for 39.99. It has an 8 quart pot, a 3.5 quart saute pan, pressure lid, glass lid and steamer basket. This seems like a great deal, but I don't want to buy another problem. Does anyone have any experience with Bravetti? Or any suggestion about my fagor?

Thanks-
Cheryl
