Just follow the instructions in the KR booklet for how much you can put in the pc without danger of boiling over and you'll be fine.

Those red bands on the popper upper thingy are a very reliable guide to the pressure. After using it regularly for a few weeks, you'll find you know just how high to set the stove to maintain high pressure while it's cooking.
