I also live in a household of nonvegs. It makes it especially tough if you are cooking for one. Since I cook for the whole family, I thought the pc would be my magic bullet; everything in one pot on one burner.

It didn't work that way. Even with the excellent Sass book, I have a lot of trouble getting so many things that I don't normally have on hand together. My pc has been relegated to beans (navy and pinto) 2-3 times a week. Considering the time it takes to cook them without a pc, I'm satisfied for now. I've also found that I like simple foods. Navy beans with a little salt a fresh ground pepper are awesome. I do eat some rice, but my old electric steamer does such a great job, I'm reluctant to change. I haven't had much luck making Chinese food taste anything like a restaurant, but I like the flavors of the fresh Chinese vegs quick stir fried to heat them. The point is, simple can be great. I'm more satisfied since I made the change.

Anyway, hope this helps and hang in there.

Bill
