Subject: Question about my Fagor
Date: December 20, 2003 at 9:03 pm PST

I just bought a Fagor Splendid pressure cooker last night. I read the booklet that came with the cooker. But, the cooker is so different from my old presto that quit. Totally different. With my Presto cooker, I started cooking at med high temperature. Then, as the jiggler started jiggling, I would gradually cut the stove temperature down. Usually, I would end up at medium temperature. The Fagore starts at Medium temp and says to cut down to low temp once the pressure indicator button pops out. When I cut it down to low, the pressure indicator button pops back in. I can only cut it back to medium low. Also, the operating valve has an unlock position. When is this used and how do you get it to work? I cannot get the pointer to go to the unlock position. Is my cooker defective?
