That gave me a chuckle too!! Especially since we are FINALLY getting winter up here in Alaska.

I would make a big post of something that you would make for yourself, and then split it in half for your friend (you certainly ARE a good friend BTW).

Maybe make a creamy potato soup with some rice or soy milk, and spice it up with vegan sausage. Then make a chuncky ministrone with beans (and fresh or frozen green beans) and lots of veggies and colored noodels. It could also use some veggie sausage. A third could be Something with rice or barley and veggies and mushrooms. That sounds pretty good to me. My specialty is soups and stews and I come up with all kinds of weird things that my family loves. You never will have the same thing twice because I don't use recipes. A good way to start out is using those veggie broths, Imagine or Pacific. I can get them at Fred Meyers here in Alaska, just got a load of them today on sale for 2/$3.00!!!! Can't beat it.
