I agree. However, my original point was that canned beans have much less folate in them than stove-top cooked beans. The same applies to vegetables such as spinach. The USDA database for spinach has the canned variety containing only 36% of the folate of raw, when adjusted for equal calorie content. A similar reduction applies for some canned beans. For that reason, when I'm in a pinch, and eat canned vegetables and beans, I take an appropriate amount of folic acid in pill form.
