I have a couple of those blanching baskets (they're old) but find that I don't ever use them. I'd just as soon put tomatoes, broccoli, beans or whatever I'm blanching loose in the boiling water, then I use a handled (screen) sieve to scoop through the boiling water to get them out of the water. I find that the vegies tend to "escape" through the large holes in the blanching basket so you end up having to use the sieve anyway. Laurel
