That's great you like the insert. I got the idea from a relative who used a regular double boiler in a standard pot to cook her rice. The texture was a lot better than my mushy, pressure cooked rice. I can't remember the last time I cooked without it or a steamer insert. Just about any food tastes great cooked in one. A few more favorites you may want to try are split peas, lentils & just about any kind of bean. Have fun.
