I saw your post & thought: "no way it was the best because an insert has to be used to get that". I had to read it & you mentioned that you cooked it in an insert. It is soooo much better cooked that way. Have you tried oatmeal with the insert? It is totally different & much better than when cooked normally. If you try it vent a lot of steam if you can when you shut the lid to minimize foaming.
