Yes, the Fisslers are expensive. I bought one from a company that had a special for a unit with a one setting valve but with the 2nd valve. I think the Aeternum is great because it has that 2nd valve. I used a Kuhn for awhile and had constant foaming problems with basmati rice even if I put a couple of teaspoons of oil in it. I figured out how to overcome that (without oil) by holding the valve down all the way for a minute or so when it would start to heat up. To avoid getting burned by the escaping steam I used a wooden cutting board to hold the valve down. The 2nd valve of the Fissler does the trick all by itself. Other pc's have a lever which can be put at 0 for a couple of minutes at start up and then manually closed after steam escapes for awhile. I'd bet that the Aeternum does a good job at reducing or eliminating possible foaming problems. Have you had any problem with yours?
