That is exactly the same one I bought... same place... same price.
The instruction book that comes with it does have "ranges" of times and ingredients
(like: Rice, brown, 1 cup dry - 15 to 20 min. 1 3/4 cup water) A lot of times it "depends" on other factors, too (and yes, I've used a bit of salt for rice, but NOT beans) Use the lower time first, and put it back for more time if you need to. Experimenting is no big deal. The convience is fantastic. I've thrown in dry pinto beans, no soaking at all, put in a bit more water than double the beans... and in 25 minutes I've had beans tender enough to mash a bit.
You'll love the browning option. I haven't used it a lot... but it sure has been nice when I did. PLUS, I've thrown in a big pot of soup that I've stored in the fridge as leftovers, turned on the browning option and just let it heat up the whole thing. It was great.

There is only my husband and I that I cook for, so the 4 qt. is plenty big enough for us and it is no bigger than a regular crock pot. I keep mine on the counter. It is what I mostly use.

You can't immerse the removeable pot... but it cleans up so easy... even if I've left it to sit for awhile. (I hate handling hot pots anyway, so it usually does sit for awhile)Once you start using it... you will enjoy it and wonder what you did without it.
