My brand new Kuhn Rikon (7L) named Junie B. is STILL sitting in the box in the living room floor. It's been there for a couple of weeks now. Why can't I get over this unwarranted (I'm certain it is...) fear I have and make something...anything in it?! The first thing I thought I would make is my Hearty Minestrone recipe. But that recipe calls for canned beans. Now, this will prove my ignorance when it comes to pressure cooking, but can I use canned beans in Junie B. along with fresh carrots, celery, peppers, etc. and not have the beans turn to complete mush? I think I just can't wrap my mind around the concept of throwing everything at once into a pot and not stirring it while it's cooking and have it come out as something edible. It's sort of the same reason I can't sew--I can't see how the flat picture(s) they show in the pattern guidelines can turn into something three-dimensional that will actually go over one's head. What is wrong with me?!
