I think it depends more on who you are, your cooking style. I love to cook and I like to be more involved in the process of cooking, so I like the stovetop pressure cookers. That is why I do not like "set it and forget it" kind of kitchen gadgets. I prefer to set my own timer and check how it goes and experiment with cooking strategies.

Do not mind the size of the cooker. If you clearly like the advantages of a programmable cooker, go for it!
