Guy, my Aeternum has a pressure indicator, which pops up before actual ideal pressure is attained, so I guess part of its function is to help maintain pressure. There is also a rubber safety plug in addition to other valves, in case of excessive pressure. It's a quiet pc, barely makes a sound at top pressure and has been very reliable for timing and results (especially for a novice lol!) I emailed Aeternum asking for guidelines about their pc's and they quickly sent me an instruction manual from Italy-nice support! I have seen Aeternums getting pretty good resale prices on ebay and the 'net, but haven't heard them mentioned here, so I wondered what their general reputation was. Maybe they're a little obscure, being from Italy? The other brands talked about here sound great,too-I'll be looking into them as well-1 pc just isn't enough lol!!!!
