DJ Thanks for the reply. For some reason your letter has vanished off the listings. It was there half an hour ago.
Ok on the dried sprouts.Sounds a good idea.I would imagine they would be useful if ground up and sprinkled over various dishes.
In reply to your original letter. If you have a look at my reply to Heidi dated 6/12/03- the basic idea is there in a nutshell. One of my favourites is short grain brown rice soaked along with millet and wheat(kamut or ordinary).Bit more intersting than plain rice.As regards the larger seeds,of course red kidney beans have to be cooked to destroy the toxins.Sprouted chick peas, ordinary peas etc. all turn out well in a p.cooker and yes that is real fast food due to the prior soaking.
About the best way to do rice and other grain types is to cover well with water, bring just up to pressure, turn off the heat and leave for an hour or two.The grains then absorb the boiling water and cook.No draining or messing around.Takes longer. But good results.
Just wondering what method you use to sprout your seeds.I use jars, but been looking at the Freshlife automatic sprouter. Then I am a gadget freak.... Eric
