brown lots of nice sweet onions with water, about 2 cups chopped, throw in a teaspoon or more of caraway seeds (to taste) then about a half cup or more of quick barley, some chopped carrot, chopped celery, and garlic. Stir in a quart of rinsed home made sauerkraut, 2 cups veg broth and cook on high pressure for 4 minutes. When done, let pressure come down about 5 minutes then put in a half pound or so of chopped kale and stir, replace lid and let it steam. Enjoy! We added fresh ground pepper.
