My Farberware electric pc had sat on the kitchen counter for a month, mocking me, intimidating me, daring me to use it. Finally on Sunday I did and I wondered "Why did I wait so long?" Simplicity was key so I just cooked 1 cup of cranberry beans. That's it - no seasonings, no veggies, nothing but beans and water. Those were some of the best beans I had ever had. I flavored them after cooking with Tabasco sauce and salt. Yummy! They were perfectly done and tender - something I could rarely achieve by conventional cooking methods. I bought a five pound bag of pinto beans - I think I'll get adventurous and put in some sauteed onions and garlic. WOO HOO
