What I ended up doing last night was making it again, but I put the pasta in after it was cooked. Also, when I originally burned the whole thing, I had started out with a cold pot and ingredients. I should have browned the onion, added each thing as I got it chopped up, and used boiling water instead of cold - I use the Vogue base for vegetable broth. I put the lid on, and then turned on the burner. Dumb me! Learned another valuable lesson. I sure liked the idea of not having to boil the pasta in a separate pot, though. It still worked out fine when I made it again last night. I put in green pepper, grated carrot, some portabella mushrooms, and celery, too, it was quite good. Now I know two things: Ok, that's three things I know. I'm smarter than I thought!
