You have a second generation pc and it doesn't require oil. Just keep the level below 1/2 full. Also, if you have kombu (strips of seaweed) toss in a piece. That will help stop foaming and supposedly keep the gas down.

I love black beans most of all. I usually make two batches: one plain and the other "cuban style" with lots of onions, peppers and chiles. Oh they are soooo good!
