Glad to be of help. I have a few additional thoughts about your Fagor. If it does not have a second valve as I described it may be easy to release steam for a minute or so after you close the lid. There should be a lever or button to slide and or push to release steam while the contents are heating up. You may also be able to simply leave the lever in an open position for a minute or two to allow steam to escape when you first close the lid. On my first pressure cooker there are 4 positions: Open, 1, 2 & 3. Leaving it in the open position allows steam to escape. It is then manually moved to the desired pressure after a minute or two. Have fun. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised how useful of a tool your pressure cooker will be.
