but not about underfilling. As long as you have some water in there to form a good head of steam, you don't have to have it "half full" to cook. It may take longer for it to come to pressure, but it will cook just fine after it's at pressure. Some of the Lorna Sass recipes only call for 1 cup of water, and the volume of the solids vary dramatically. Lori
