Honestly, I *love* my PC, and it's a jiggle top. It's one of the newer ones, so it has safety features that make it much safer than the old ones, and it's stainless steel (I had a 40+ yo aluminum one I sold in a garage sale after the new one arrived for Christmas.).

I'm satisfied with my PC for now, but would not hesitate to buy both the Kuhn Rikon and the Farberware electric that Sabrina recommends as soon as I have enough moola. (c:

But in the meantime, don't overspend on a new gadget. The jiggletop stainless will work perfectly well for dry beans and corn, even if the beans foam. And if you fall in love with it and begin using it every single day, then you can always upgrade.
