i really really like it alot. i've never used a stovetop pc, but the farberware is electric and programmable. the inside comes out so you can wash it - it's non-stick and cleans easily. also, you can program it with a 30, 60, 90 or 120 minute delay, so you can prepare your dinner, program it, take a nap and when you wake up, it's like someone else made soup for you. it has a brown function, so you can sautee ingredients first. there is also a steam function, which my dh loves for steaming white rice. btw, check out the prices at chefscatalog.com - they may also be offering free shipping
