Subject: Sabrina - more Black Bean Chili questions?

My local grocery didn't have dried chipotles, so I got the canned in adobo sauce. I'm hoping that will work? Also, could you compare the heat of chipotle versus jalapeno? Is it hotter or milder? I'm trying to decide if I should use it or not since my mom who lives with us can't eat highly spiced foods.
