I was afraid to try it in stainless. The vinegar soak didn't take the marks out, so I used a little Comet and very gently rubbed with the grain of the metal, and almost everything came out. It looks fine, with no major defects other than a couple tiny dark dots. I don't know what went wrong. Initially things were OK, but I could never lower the heat as far as I have in the past and still maintain temperature. I think all my water boiled off due to the bigger release of steam. There must have been a clog somewhere in the releases, I took the thing apart but couldn't find anything stuck any where. I don't know if I'll try rice again or not, at least not sitting directly in the pot. Probably will try the casserole dish method first.....
