If the 8 quart model is the same diameter as the 6 quart I'd get the 8 quart. I own a 10 liter pressure cooker & it is 26 cm in diameter vs 22 cm for the 6 quart unit that I have. The larger diameter makes the unit a bit of a hassle to use & store. An 8 quart unit has a lot of room for steaming larger vegetables such as artichokes.
