I like to quarter or half red or white "new" spuds and place them in a steamer basket so that they don't soak in the water. I sprinkle them with garlic pepper, Italian spices and dill (or other possibilites) in layers so that all of the cut sides of the spuds are evenly sprinkled. It's kind of like roasted spuds only quicker, easier and they don't have the oil on them. Leftovers can be put in salades or cut up for breakfast spuds heated and served with salsa.
