I have/had three. One is a 10 liter Chantal, made by Fissler. Another is a 4 1/2 liter Fissler and the third is a 6 liter Chantal, made by Fissler. The 6 liter unit has seen much better days. I let it sit on a burner turned on high for over 30 minutes. The water boiled out and it actually melted the aluminum plate on its' base. It has a chunk of aluminum hanging about 1 1/2" down from the bottom of the pot. The stove reflecting pan accumulated several ounces of aluminum. I even had a timer set for about 6 minutes to remind me that it was heating up but didn't pay attention because I was engrossed in a phone conversation. I'd been thinking about getting the top of the line Fissler to replace it so I'm not too broken up about it. The 10 liter unit actually gets a lot of use. It is great for steaming 5-6# of potatoes at a time. It's also great for use with a 6 quart double boiler insert to cook a load of rice or beans.
