I just bought a Fissler Vitavit Royal 2.5 liter pressure cooker and had disastrous results the first time I used it. I bought it to cook brown rice and followed the manuals directions: 2 cups rice, 2 3/5 cups water. I cooked at the high pressure setting for 20 minutes, as specified in the manual. The entire bottom was burned black yet the rice was still hard and undercooked. I can't figure out what I did wrong. I also have a Kuhn Rikon 7-liter Duromatic and have had similar experiences with it, so often in fact that I no longer use it. Any tips from you experienced hands out there?
