I received a free Cutco paring knife in 1957 after watching a friend's demonstration. I also received a little cookbook I am now trying to find a replacement.

That little knife was my favorite until I lost it in a move in 1997 - 40 years. It was never sharpened and remained sharp. There was never any corrosion or any other problem.I loved how it felt in my hand.

I was a student nurse, engaged to be married, at the time of my demonstration. I wanted the knives so very much but just couldn't afford them. I never have had a set of good knives. That little cookbook helped me cook meat as a beginning cook. That disappeared long before the knife.

Now I am a 72 year old widow living on social security and an occasional private duty case. I still can't afford the knives but wish I had that little cookbook. That one little knife worked like a horse for 40 years and I miss it like a friend. I think Cutco is the best knives unless you are a weight lifter. To me, a heavy knife doesn't do the job.

Thank you for your rebuttal.
