A friend of mine owns an Aeternum Elipse. It has two short handles. The effort required to open an Aeternum is different than most pc's. Once zero pressure has been obtained the lever on top of the lid is moved 90 degrees and the lid simply falls down about 1/4" to a small bar across the top of the pc. It sounds like there is some sort of cam action which seals or releases the lid.
