i've just run into this problem. soaked newly purchased black beans... overnight for about 15 hours. didn't check them for hardness. just went ahead and put them after the overnight soak right into a recipe in a slow cooker & cooked on low heat for 6 hours. result: hard black beans,,, or no less than cruncy, anyway. continued to cook another 15 hours as an experiment... STILL crunchy the next day. WHAT GIVES ??? Help ! robert5523@excite.com
