Well, it spits & sputters from the lid. At the base of the pressure indicator set-up, there is a small well, which I assume is for pressure release. That is where most of the liquid is spewing from, however it will spit out the top if I jiggle the red stem in my vain attempts to see if the silly little thing will loosen up and give me a pressure reading. Thank you for the phone number, I didn't think to try that yet. I guess that's just because I was hoping someone would be able to, well, I don't know, wave a magic wand or something and make it all better! Boy, wouldn't that be nice?

I do appreciate your suggestions and just the fact that you responded to my plea for help.
