| | Subject: | Faulty? Magefesa Super II Pressure Cooker | |
Date: | September 30, 2005 at 11:01 am PST |
My mother bought this thing after being unable to replace the seal on her beloved old pressure cooker. She absolutely hates it. She offered it to me and I accepted thinking I don't have any previous experiences by which to judge it. Well, I hate the blasted thing too. It always spits and sputters steam and water, never reaches pressure, burns food and me consistently (I have become an expert at cleaning charcoal items from its stainless steel surface). I have tried everything in the manual (some manual) regarding trouble shooting including taking it apart, cleaning it, and putting it back together. The pressure indicator is immobile for one thing. It can not move at all. I can't move it and apparently, neither can any amount of pressure or steam. What I want to know is, is this the way it is made to be? Have I indeed gotten my hands on a defective pressure cooker? Does anybody have any suggestions? My instinct is to pitch it in the trash and never even look at another product by this company! Please help before this expectant mom completely loses it and throws it through the kitchen window - burnt dinner and all!!
