I read through those threads, but what is interesting to me is that when I was cooking, there was a constant release of steam from the pressure valve (I checked, it was VERY hot steam). Also, I was able to cook brown rice in a normal amount of time (altho it did come out a bit more chewy than when I use my rice cooker... I'm not sure if that was from it being undercooker or just a difference in texture). Perhaps I got a bad bag of beans? The store I go to is mostly frequented by the college campus kids near it, and isn't known for their turnover of any high quality food. But it still doesn't explain the very fast natural release time. Wish I had one of those remote thermometers about now. Put it in there, and you know it's to pressure when the temp is 250.
