I am really convinced that you did not let the pressure cooker come to full pressure. The yellow indicator is an indication of when there is some pressure in the pressure cooker and not when the pressure cooker has reached full pressure.
The Fagor is a first generation pressure cooker that has what is called a developed weight pressure regulator. It is difficult to judge when full pressure has been reached because you only have the sound.
Scroll down about 14 bulleted posts, those that have a bullet in the left hand column, to a post by cmvegan with the subject - ended up getting fagor elite at bridal shower and - read this post and my response to it and you will find a discussion there of getting to full pressure with the Fagor. There is also a reference to a previous thread on developed pressure pressure cookers that you might find useful.
Good luck and don't give up easily. Once you learn how to get to full pressure and regulate it you will be very pleased with the results.
