As far as a little residue on the lid of the pc, I have found that with a large amount of split pea soup, it can be totally eliminated with a little extra venting. If you want to try it simply hold open the 2nd valve with the button in the handle for an extra minute or two right after it automaticlly closes. In my experience, peas are the only foods that need a little extra venting to totally eliminate any residue on the inside of the lid.

Glad you both liked the soup. Pretty easy to make, wasn't it?
