I was out shopping today and had a look at a couple of pressure cookers. I've decided to purchase the Fissler, but after today, I'm undecided about which size to get--the 6 or 8l...and there's not much difference in price. If I cook, for example, split pea soup in the 6l, do you know how many cups it will make in it? I know it probably depends on whether I use an insert, right? I also found a heavyish stainless steel bowl for $10. I think maybe the 4 quart size would fit in the 8l, if you say that you put a 6 quart in your 10l. Would a stainless steel bowl work fine? I know you compared the size of the different cookers in a post to me, but I'm trying to figure out how much it will cook, because I want to make sure I have enough left overs or for company. I called Eurostoves the other day. The lady I spoke to was very nice! She said they had cooking classes, and the Fissler was her very favorite. I asked, and she confirmed that the pc comes with a steamer basket and trivet...but she called the trivet a tripod, so I'm not sure what it really looks like because they are two different things in my mind. Do I need to purchase anything else when I order the pressure cooker, other than an insert? I already ordered Lorna Sass's Great Vegetarian Cooking Under Pressure, and Complete Vegetarian Kitchen: Where Good Flavors and Good Health Meet. Last question: Today when I looked at some different pressure cookers (not the Fissler) just to get an idea of what they look like (!), I noticed that one recipe book said to soak grains before cooking (I think it suggested 4 hours). Do you soak your oats and grains before cooking? Thanks so much for all of your help!!! :-) Take care, Goldie
