Subject: Farberware 4 qt non-stick is peeling off
Date: February 9, 2005 at 7:17 pm PST
Hi,
I have absolutely loved my Farberware 4 quart pressure cooker. But it blistered on the bottom and then the nonstick stuff started coming off. I understand that it is dangerous to use in this condition. (I called Salton and they will replace the insert but it is backordered and no indication when I will receive a new insert.) This means I haven't been able to use my pressure cooker for a long time now.
Question: May I use a pyrex bowl inside the nonstick insert to cook some brown rice in? If I can do that do I just leave it dry on the outside of the bowl or do I put water on the outside? (And more water on the inside of the bowl for the brown rice?) Would the timing be the same?
Rice just isn't the same without being pressured :-(
Any tips would be helpful.
