Deb In addition to regular washing after use you may have to take apart the pressure indicating rod and an overpressure safety release. See if the pressure cooker lid has a nut that matches in size the hexagonal hole in the wrench. If you find one I presume that that would be what you would undo to clean. If you take the pressure cooker apart, at least the first time, do it over a brightly colored or a white terry cloth towel so that parts will not roll and can be seen so that you will not lose parts. Whatever you do don't take it apart over the sink because if a small part comes out it may roll down the sink drain or garbage disposal, then you have a problem. Take it apart slowly, noting how things came apart, so that you will be able to reassemble in reverse order. I don't know what the pointed end is for, if it is somewhat pointed with a flat end it may be a screwdriver. If it is really pointed it may be a probe to clean something in the pressuure cooker handle or top. Good Luck Bob
