and then look at my answer:
what are you talking about? it was neither glossed over nor ignored.

and look again at:
"Obama: He has quit smoking on several occasions and currently uses Nicorette gum with success. He promises his wife, Michelle, he will give up smoking."

the fact that he has quit smoking on several occasions naturally suggests he had not succeeded on several occasions also. that can certainly be said to be (in your own words) "cheating on his plan to quit smoking" and therefore it has neither been ignored nor glossed over since it is right there in plain text. possibly you'd have been happier if the post had documented the precise dates he had quit and the subsequent dates he started up again?

you are correct though in interpreting "currently uses Nicorette gum with success" as presumably meaning that he has stopped smoking. so exactly on what basis are you claiming that "he still smokes"? do you have any convincing evidence to substantiate your claim?
