Thanks for your suggestions. I did talk with him, and I talked with the teacher today, too. She said she hasn't heard anything about it, but she's going to ask, and she's also going to talk to my son to make sure he knows that he can talk with her if/when ever he feels uncomfortable about any situation in school. At least I'm fairly certain that its just a rumor and nothing really happened. My son's teacher is also the union rep for the teachers, and she's as likely to know about such things as the principal is because she talks to all the other teachers all the time. You have no idea how much I wish my husband was more supportive of homeschooling. When the older boys were smaller, we homeschooled, and I miss them so much! You have no idea how much I've cried and prayed that he would allow them to return home. Unfortunately, he truly believes that strangers who have a different degree than I do are better suited to the job, and I have been quite unable to convince him otherwise. For now, I have no other option than to send them, but I whole-heartedly agree that homeschooling has a LOT of benefits... and avoiding the worry that comes from situations like this, is only one of many.
